Mrs Peggy McAlpine lives in the
village of Karmi Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus and is the widow of a mason
from Cheshire in England.
To mark her 100th birthday the
Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire contacted the District Grand Master of Cyprus RW Bro. Theodosios
Socratous Theodossiou and asked
for his assistance in presenting an
illuminated scroll to mark
the occasion.
With the assistance of Bro Les Evans
who also resides in Northern Cyprus, a birthday party was organised in her village on 27th October 2007 and the District Grand Master attended and presented her with the scroll on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire.
A musical afternoon then followed with over 100 people attending and joining in the celebrations.
As you can see from the pictures, Peggy is a very sprightly Centenarian
and announced her intention to be taken paragliding on her actual
birthday on October 30th.
We wish Peggy and her family well for the future.
