KITION No. 1904
    Lodge of Mark Master Masons
         Consecrated 7th October, 2009

The successful establishment of the Mark Degree in Cyprus led a number of brethren at the eastern end of the island to
think that it would be good to have a Mark Lodge to serve the Larnaca and Famagusta areas.

After numerous committee meetings and a great deal of spadework by W.Bro Elefteris (Lefty) Georgiou PGStdBr, who did so much to bring the Mark here in the first place, Kition Lodge of Mark Master Masons was consecrated by RW Bro Peter Rolling GMRAC,
Provincial Grand Master for East Anglia and a team of officers from his Province, on Wednesday, 7th October 2009 at the San
Remo Hotel, Larnaca.

The first Master, W.Bro Duncan J. Moore PGSD was installed by W.Bro Ivan Hugh Notley PGSD, Deputy Provincial Grand Master for East Anglia. The first administration included many experienced and committed Mark Masons and there were several candidates in prospect.

The first regular meeting was held on Monday, 25th January 2010, at which one candidate was advanced and a former Mark Mason in the Greek Constitution was re-advanced.

On February 15th, 2010 W.Bro Moore installed W.Bro William Bishop as his successor and the list of candidates grew.

In our first full year we advanced or re-advanced 14 candidates and received two joining members, as well as doing a mass
advancement of 13 candidates to enable our daughter lodge
Phoenix No.1923 to be consecrated in November 2010. This trend has continued in 2011 with one advancee and four joining
members so that we have a bright future in prospect at the unrivalled temple facility in the San  Remo, with
its superb food and friendly atmosphere.
